The Philippine Health Statistics (PHS) is an annual publication of the Department of Health that provides the final set of statistical data on
natality, mortality and morbidity which are primarily intended for planning, research and academic use. It is also a vital tool in providing information on the health status of the population.
Counts and frequencies on natality and mortality were provided by the Vital Statistics Division of the National Statistics Office
(NSO). Morbidity data were submitted by the Local Health Units all over the country through the Field Health Service and Information System
(FHSIS).
