Governing Board (GB)
The Governing Board is composed of:
Three representatives from the private sector are appointed by the President of the Republic of the Philippines for a two year-term.
Functions of the Governing Board:
Technical CommitteeThe NNC Technical Committee is composed of heads of major department bureaus and agencies involved in nutrition and appropriate NGOs. It provides technical assistance to the GB and NNC Secretariat and facilitates inter- and intra-agency coordination, supervision and monitoring; and implementation of nutrition policies and programs.
The Secretariat
The NNC Secretariat serves as the executive arm of the NNC-Governing Board. It is headed by an executive director, assisted by two deputy executive directors. It has three technical divisions (nutrition policy and planning division; nutrition surveillance division, and nutrition information and education division); and two support divisions (administrative and finance). At present, the NNC Secretariat has a staff complement of 123, 53 of whom are in the regional offices.
NNC has fourteen (14) regional offices all over the country. Each regional office is staffed by a lean personnel complement of a nutrition program coordinator, a technical staff, a clerk and a driver. The regional offices for CARAGA and ARMM are still to be organized. However, nutrition program coordinator of Region XII handle matters related to the ARMM while CARAGA is handled by DA-CARAGA.
